The upcoming Expansion for the popular space sim, Elite Dangerous, has been delayed for both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles.
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey was already delayed on PC to late Spring and you’ll have to wait even longer if you’re a console player. Elite Dangerous: Odyssey won’t be available on consoles until autumn of this year. This decision came because the developers want more time to collect extra feedback from players.
The developers had this say about the delay
“Please do know that these difficult decisions have been made with a focus on making Odyssey as incredible as it can possibly be for all our Commanders regardless of their platform,” Frontier adds, “while also respecting realistic project deadlines for our teams during this difficult global situation.”
There is no actual release date on the PC version of Odyssey. They want Odyssey to enter an alpha phase before its official release and their current goal is to have it out by late Spring. This could always change since they’re battling another lockdown due to Covid.
It’s always a bummer when a popular game, or expansion, gets delayed, but considering the times we live in, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear of more delays like this happening in the game industry. Give them some extra time and, hopefully, it’ll be worth the wait.

I cover every type of game genre there is and I’m using all of the skills I learned over the last 7 years working on Drakulus to make Pete’s Corner the best it can be. My favorite types of games are strategy, RPGs, and Shooters. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy other types of genres. Those are just my top 3. You can expect my brutally honest opinion on what I think of games in long reviews, editorial pieces, and game news coverage.
