Disaster 4 was unplayable on the Switch for me. The game never stayed at 30 FPS and it looked like a Playstation 2 game.
There’s no excuse for why Disaster Report performed the way it did on the Switch. Nintendo has proven that the Switch can run some beautiful games. Xenoblade 2, Mario Odyssey, and Astral Chain are amongst the best looking games on the Switch. Astral Chain could be mistaken for a PS4 game. That’s how good it looks.
Disaster Report 4 looks absolutely horrible on the Switch and I could forgive that if the game at least performed well. It doesn’t. I don’t think I ever reached 30 FPS the entire time I played. Add in the fact that this game is boring as hell and you’ve got, well, a disaster of a game.
Every time I thought about the absolute worst games I played this year this was the first game that popped into my head. Well… at least until the next game on my list is revealed. Disaster Report 4 is nothing more than a walking and talking simulator and that wouldn’t be so bad if it had a good story and interesting locations to visit. It doesn’t.
What it does have is one random conversation after another with random NPCs that has the main protagonist doing random shit. Like finding toilet paper. Nothing is connected in this game. It’s all completely random and the fact that this game cost $60 is what made me place it so high on this list. How could you charge triple-A money for a B grade (at best) that’s unplayable on the Switch?
The amount of visual bugs, fps drops, and overhaul low-quality graphics is unacceptable for a game that costs this much money. Not even die-hard fans of the series should buy this game on the Switch. The PC version does perform and looks much better, but even then it’s still the same average game with average gameplay, characters, story, and locations.
Disaster Report 4 was an incredibly boring experience for me. It was a boring, broken experience that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone even if it was a free game. Don’t waste your time on this one. Play anything else. Especially on the Switch because that version is complete shit and should never be purchased by anyone.
This game was my number one all year long until I played the number 1 game on this list. To be honest it’s probably a toss-up between the two since they’re equally boring, buggy, and lacks any memorable moments.
