Capcom recently suffered a huge data leak that seemed to confirm that both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin were not only releasing on the Switch but also coming to PC sometime in the future. Well, now we have a timeframe for that future release.
Nintendo, according to this leak, paid Capcom $6 million for 6-month exclusivity for both Monster Hunter titles. It’s unknown if Rise and Stories 2 will go to another platform besides PC and since we’re so early in this new generation I wouldn’t expect either of them to pop up on the new consoles any time soon if ever. Capcom hasn’t officially announced PC versions of either game, but we can safely assume that they’re real and coming soonish. Since Monster Hunter Rise is launching on March 26, 2021, that would mean that the exclusivity deal will be over in October. Maybe we’ll see the PC port then? Stories 2 on the other hand, probably won’t be released until 2022 since there’s no official launch date set for that one.
Hi,
I’m Omar. I’m the founder of drakulus.com and the new founder of Petescorner.net. I cover every type of game genre there is and I’m using all of the skills I learned over the last 7 years working on Drakulus to make Pete’s Corner the best it can be. My favorite types of games are strategy, RPGs, and Shooters. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy other types of genres. Those are just my top 3. You can expect my brutally honest opinion on what I think of games in long reviews, editorial pieces, and game news coverage.
