It seems like the woke game “journalist” wants Cyberpunk 2077 to fail. If it’s not a single person claiming they had a seizure it’s someone bitching that the game doesn’t tick some box to make them feel better about themselves. Here’s what I think of everything surrounding Cyberpunk 2077.
Woke game “journalists” have been tearing Cyberpunk apart for weeks now. If it’s not the overblown issue about crunch it’s about transexuals not being happy with the way they’re represented and instead of reviewing the game, they used the review as a rant about it instead of reviewing the actual game. I refuse to link any of those reviews here because I’m not in the habit of giving terrible writers free clicks.
I know I’m being a bit cruel here, but I honestly don’t care. I’m tired of game developers being forced to tick various different social boxes in order to be accepted by people that don’t even play their games. Game journalism is a joke right now. It’s been a joke for years and it’s gotten worse this year. I applaud CD Projekt for not bowing to these people and making the game they want to make. Game developers should be able to do that without having their game labeled and being thrown under the bus by woke game “journalist”.
What happened to playing video games to escape from all the shit we go through in our daily lives? Now everyone wants to bring all that crap with them into the virtual world and I for one will continue to write pieces like this that go against that ideology. I know I’m most likely going to be labeled after posting this and I could care less. Go ahead and label me whatever you want because I want to play a game that doesn’t shoehorn your political or life views on me.
CD Projekt Red has been cast as the ultimate evil gaming corporation because they won’t do things the way the game media wants them to and that’s funny to me. There are no microtransactions in Cyberpunk 2077. There’s no loot boxes or anything like that in a single-player game like there was in Shadow of War (at first) and every Assassin’s Creed game since Origins. These are things I look for in a single-player game. Not what’s happening to less than %1 of the population that chooses to get offended by every fucking thing.
Some of the reviews I read are pure cringe. These people that wrote them should be ashamed to call themselves game reviewers because they did a piss poor job doing the one thing they’re paid to do and that’s review games. And then they wonder why we’ll rather go to Youtube instead of reading anything they write. Look no further than Kallie Plagge from Gamespot. She’s the same person that gave Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alphas Sapphire a 7/10 because it had too much water. She’s the same person that played Cyberpunk and none of her reviews are ever any good. I don’t think she likes RPGs and there’s nothing wrong with that, but why give a person a review of a genre they don’t like?
Kallie Plague did not put a lot of time or even bother trying everything in the game before writing her review. How do I know this? Because she herself admitted in a video on Youtube. Take a look
How do you get paid to write a review for an RPG and not bother doing anything in it? I mean… it’s your job.
That’s enough about her though. I’m not piling on her I’m just pointing out the fact that she didn’t do her job.
I’m not saying that Cyberpunk is beyond criticism. Every reviewer pointed out all of the bugs and complained about them. That’s a valid criticism to have about a game and it’s worth lowering the final score on. If you don’t like the story or characters that’s valid too, but when you’re mad that there’s not enough representation or didn’t bother playing everything the game has to offer that’s where you lose me. There’s a difference between a legit review and a woke one. I plan on forming my opinions on the game once it releases tomorrow on GoG and writing a lengthy review on it which would be my first review on this new website of mine.
I’ll say again, I’m not piling on Kallie Plagge. I just think she’s a terrible game reviewer based on her body of work and if that offends you, oh well.
Hi,
I’m Omar. I’m the founder of drakulus.com and the new founder of Petescorner.net. I cover every type of game genre there is and I’m using all of the skills I learned over the last 7 years working on Drakulus to make Pete’s Corner the best it can be. My favorite types of games are strategy, RPGs, and Shooters. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy other types of genres. Those are just my top 3. You can expect my brutally honest opinion on what I think of games in long reviews, editorial pieces, and game news coverage.
